President Joko Widodo decided to build a house for former members of the Free Papua Organization (OPM).
.
Jokowi has instructed the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljanto to build a house for former sympathizers of the Free Papua Organization (OPM). There are dozens of houses to be built.
.
"Yes, asked to build a house for former OPM," said Basuki when met reporters at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (05/03/2018).
.
Construction of houses for ex-OPM will use the budget in his ministry, namely through a special housing program.
.
Basuki said, the housing construction budget was included in the special housing program. The budget has also been prepared.
.
"There are still special housing programs. There are," he said.
.
The government built special houses in Papua for religious / traditional leaders, conflict-affected communities, education / health personnel in border areas and ex-OPM.
.
Rusus Development also touched Ariepi Village, Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency, Papua. A total of 25 Rusus units were built in the area in 2017 and are already inhabited.
.
Kris Nussy, former TPN-OPM East Yapen commander who declared integration on August 17, 2017, said that before a house was inhabited by 2-3 families, it was very narrow.
.
"I am very grateful. If possible, don't let this construction end. Continue forward in 2019 and 2020. Keep moving forward so that our brothers who don't understand can get it. Places that have not yet been built must be built, "he explained.
.
Frans Wally, 48, a tribal chief in Kehira village, Jayapura regency, told that before the Rusus program was held, one house was occupied by mothers, children and grandchildren. With Rusus being built, children who are married have to move away from parents.
.
Rusus built by the Ministry of PUPR is generally a type 36 house that has been equipped with water and infrastructure facilities and utilities (PSU) such as environmental roads, drainage, electricity and water. These conditions are expected to increase the comfort of residents. Nationally the development of Rusus by the Ministry of PUPR for the 2015-2018 period was 22,358 units. In 2019, Rusus development is targeted at 3,230 units.
