Collaboration between SMK and hotel industry is expected to improve Papuan human resources

The Papua Provincial Education Office in the Field of Vocational Schools collaborates with the hotel industry to prepare professional human resources from Vocational High Schools in Papua.

Head of High School / Vocational High School Division of the Papua Provincial Education Office, Yulianus Kuayo said that as a formal education institution, this collaboration was expected to be able to absorb more workers, especially graduates from indigenous territories.

"Strategic steps continue to be taken by the Papua Provincial Education Office in order to prepare a generation of Papuans who are advanced, independent and prosperous," he said, Wednesday (12/12/2019).

He added, as a form of implementation of presidential instruction number 9 of 2016 concerning Revitalization, the vocational field at the Papua Provincial Education Office will continue to carry out revitalization movements in order to create advanced, independent and prosperous Papuan human resources.

Meanwhile, Carya, as the deputy chairman of the Papua hotel and restaurant association as well as executive assistant manager of the Grand Abe Hotel Jayapura hopes, the synergy that develops between SMKs and industry can bring up professional HR.

"Professional hospitality HR so far has been obtained in Papua, it is hoped that through this it can prepare them to compete with other hospitality industry personnel," Carya said.
