Biak Numfor Health Office Holds Treatment in Remote Areas

The Biak Numfor District Health Office conducts health services to remote coastal areas of the archipelago to make it easier for the community to get medical examinations and treatments. One of them did service to Aimando District and Padaidom islands, before service to Numfor Island.
.
"The aim is to make it easier for people in the archipelago to get health services," said the head of the Biak Numfor health services section, Binton Rajaguguk. According to Binton, although there are five Puskesmas on the island of Numfor, it is still hampered by the reach and limitations of facilities.
.
That was the reason the Health Office adopted a policy of helping Puskemas in the archipelago hold health services to villages on the island of Numfor. "We have prepared 20 medical personnel and four general practitioners for treatment on Numfor Island for two days," Binton said.
.
Medical personnel at the Health Office of Biak Numfor, doctor Leonora Komboy, said the results of examinations and treatment services in Numfor showed the average population was sick of Respiratory Tract Infection (Ispa) and complaints of bone pain. "On average people are sick of Ispa and have bone pain," Komboy said.
.
While the symptoms of malnutrition to stunting were not found, even so he suggested that residents of the island of Numfor, especially teenagers can pay attention to food nutrition and eating patterns.
.
"The possibility of stunting until stunting is very small on the island of Numfor, but I recommend teenagers to housewives to pay attention to food nutrition and to regulate eating patterns," Komboy explained.
