KKB Turns Abusing Civilians

In addition to blindly attacking TNI-Polri officers, the armed criminal group (KKB) in Jupara Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, apparently had the chance to persecute civilians.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said there were allegations that the KKB was also persecuting civil society. Waterpauw said that at this time the authorities were trying to evacuate residents at the location. He said more detailed information would be delivered after the evacuation process was completed.

"Someone is working at the company, we are evacuating, later I will give a report after the evacuation, it will be far from the capital of Paniai to Sugapa, it is rather far away, the sub-district is remote and there is no communication link," he said.

The joint apparatus continues to get attacks from KKB led by Lekakak Telenggen, they continue to show their existence. Previously, a member of an armed criminal group (KKB) in Sugapa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, was killed in a shootout with TNI-Polri officers.

"From this contact, 1 of the KKB groups led by Lekakak Telenggen died and 1 person was handed over by the community to the security forces," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Commissioner Asep Adi Saputra.

Asep said that until now the situation in Papua was still conducive after the shootout. The TNI-Polri joint apparatus is still pursuing a guarded KKB led by Lekakak Telenggen.
