PUPR Conducts the Arrangement of Kampung Harapan and Doyo Baru Sports Areas

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), through the Directorate General of Cipa Karya, is preparing a regional sports arena four structuring program in support of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua Province in 2020.

The structuring was carried out in the Aquatic and ISTORA Papua Bangkit sports arena development venues in the Kampung Harapan Sports Area, East Sentani District and the Cricket arena and Hockey Field (Indoor and Outdoor) in Kampung Doyo Baru, Waibu District.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the completion of the construction of sports venues was targeted on time to support the implementation of PON XX in Papua which took place from October 20 to November 2 in 2020, with due regard to safety aspects which involved supervision from the Construction Safety Committee (Committee K2).

"The construction of infrastructure and facilities for PON XX 2020 in Papua must be very careful starting from the design stage, the construction stage to the supervision stage," Minister Basuki said some time ago.

The progress of structuring the Kampung Harapan area is currently still in the process of determining the winner of the auction. As for the contractor consulting services provider or Construction Management Consultant (MK) has been contracted by PT Virama Karya (Persero) as of December 23, 2019 with a budget of Rp 3.81 billion.

In addition to the Aquatic and ISTORA Papua Bangkit venues, the 32-hectare Kampung Harapan Sports Area also built a number of supporting facilities such as athletes' houses, commercial areas (malls), velodromes, BMX Tracks, training / heating fields, stadium safe zones, and parking areas. In this complex also being built the Main Stadium of Bangkit Papua which is equipped with a scoreboard, time system equipment, and FIFA standard LED lights, with a power of 1,800 Lux.

Meanwhile, the arrangement of the Doyo Baru area has begun to be carried out by the contractor PT Cahaya Bina Karya since the contract as of December 4, 2019 with a budget of Rp 64.9 billion. Whereas the Constitutional Court Consultants were undertaken by PT Ciriajasa Engineering Consultant as of December 20, 2019 at a cost of Rp 2.45 billion.

In the Doyo Baru Sports Area, there are also offices, schools, utilities, girls 'and boys' homes, swimming pools, tennis courts, basketball, volleyball, futsal, amphitheater, water reservoirs (lake), official houses, food court, and Green Open Space (RTH) . The arrangement of this area includes preparation, cleaning, construction of workers' barracks and warehouses. Until January 17, 2020, the physical progress of the arrangement had reached 0.14%.

Aquatic arena development has started since December 2018 until January 15, 2020, the physical progress has reached 77.9%, faster than the original plan of 59.3%. The completion target for July 2020 is expected to be fulfilled.

Currently, catwalk erection, column finishing, space frame roofing, sparring ponds and diving pools are being carried out. Aquatic arena development using the 2018-2020 State Budget in the amount of Rp 401 billion with a contractor PT. Waskita Karya (Persero), Tbk and as a construction management consultant of PT. Ciriajasa CM-PT. Ciriajasa EC, (KSO) Rp 6.5 billion.

The construction of Istora Papua Bangkit has begun in November 2018, currently the progress has reached 72%, or faster than the initial plan of 58.3%. Acting as a contractor of PT PP (Persero) with a work value of Rp. 257.5 billion and management consultant of PT. Virama Karya in the amount of Rp 4.8 billion.

As for the construction of the Cricket arena and the Hockey field (Indoor and Outdoor) the physical progress has reached 74.7% or faster than the initial plan of 68.2%. At the moment there is work on the stands and the second floor of the Indoor Hockey field, as well as steel roof truss works, the field and the cricket arena road.

The total construction cost for the Cricket arena and Hockey field is Rp 277 billion with the contractor PT. Nindya Karya and management consultant of PT. Bina Karya worth Rp 4.9 billion. Work has been carried out since December 2018 and is targeted to be completed by June 2020.
