Ransiki Papua Cacao Penetrates European Market

Ransiki Papua Cacao Penetrates European Market

Cocoa beans as a basic ingredient of chocolate produced by the Ebier Cooperative Suth Cokran penetrated the European Market after approximately 12 years of vacuum from export activities on Thursday (01/09/2020).
.
Six tons of premium quality Ransiki cocoa are shipped in containers through the Port of Manokwari to Surabaya and then to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The shipped cocoa was produced on a 225 hectare land. There are still approximately 600-800 hectares of land that can be rejuvenated for Cocoa land.
.
Ebier Cooperative Chairman Suth Cokran Ransiki, Yusuf Kawey said this was the second time. The first was 12 years ago when export experiments were carried out to France totaling 16 tons. This time the official export that was sent to Amsterdam was accompanied by a one-year cooperation contract between the investor and the cooperative.
.
Meanwhile, West Papua Governor, Dominggus Mandacan after the initial export said, the West Papua government is committed to increasing the production of cocoa farmers in Mansel. This is evidenced by the existence of a budget plot in the West Papua APBD 2020 for the establishment of 100 hectares of cocoa, and a budget from the 2020 APBN for planting cocoa on 100 hectares of land.
.
"So this year there are 200 hectares that we will plant cocoa. Later we will see, if the production is good, we can add more changes in the APBD, "he said.
.
Separately, James, as an investor said he was very interested in the quality of Ransiki's cocoa. Previously, people said the quality was ordinary, it turned out to be very good quality. The aroma of flowers in cocoa beans is an attraction for investing in Ransiki cocoa. He targets to ship 100 tons this year, adjusted to the production of the cooperative.
