Three New BBM Sub-Channels in Asmat for Equitable Price

The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) inaugurated three BBM Sub-Distributors in Asmat Regency, which was centered in Sagara Village, Awuyu District, Asmat Regency, Papua.

With the inauguration of Sub-Distributors in Awuyu District, there are currently operating 3 BBM Sub-Distributors in Asmat Regency, namely Awuyu District Sub-Distributors in Sagere Village, Fayit District Sub-Distributors, and Akat District Sub-Distributors.

Before the existence of Sub-Channels, Premium and Solar prices in the Awuyu District were around Rp. 20,000 per liter. After the existence of the Fuel Sub-Distributor of Solar prices to Rp7,000 per liter and Premium to Rp8,000 per liter (according to the Regent's Decree through a Transport Cost Decree).

Director of BBM BPH Migas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak said he was grateful that there were three sub-distributors that had officially operated in Asmat Regency. It is hoped that the operation of sub-distributors can ease the burden on the Papuan people.

"This is the starting point that the state is here to help the community, especially in the Asmat Regency, which we hope can improve the welfare and economy of the surrounding community," Patuan said through his statement, Wednesday (1/22).

Separately, the Head of BPH Migas M. Fanshurullah Asa said that BPH Migas continues to encourage the community and local governments, especially in the 3T regions (Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged) and areas where there are no distributors (SPBU) to form sub-distributors.

"Sub-distributors are representatives of a group of consumers who use certain types of fuel (diesel fuel) and / or special types of fuel assignments (premiums) in areas where there are no distributors and distribute fuel only specifically to their members with specified criteria (closed distribution)," he said.
