Paddle Papua, First Sports Receive Training Equipment XX PON

To boost athletes' achievements at the XX National Sports Week (PON), the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) in Papua began distributing training equipment for sports. The sports branch which received training equipment at the beginning of 2020 was the All Indonesia Paddle Sports Committee (PODSI) Papua.

Papua Province PODSI daily chairman Ganda Siregar said he, along with Papuan trainers and rowing athletes, expressed gratitude to the KONI Papua management for the assistance of 3 units of equipment to PODSI Papua.

‘’ Extraordinary KONI Papua has responded quickly to the need for rowing equipment. For that reason, we, from the management, trainers and rowing athletes, would like to thank the management of KONI Papua, '' said Ganda Siregar.

The three equipments include, Winteck, Kayak and Cano Brands Nelo rowing boats. Dragon boat 20 rowers and Selalom and 1 Unit Sfeed Boat. With this equipment, Ganda Siregar continued, it should be able to motivate rowing athletes to be more eager to prepare themselves to face PON XX in 2020.

At the National Championship and the PON Paddle at the end of 2019, the Papua Paddle Team successfully brought home 5 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze. ‘’ We, all PODSI Papuan administrators, hope that all athletes will be more focused and enthusiastic in training so that they can get even more PON medals. We hope that the target of 5 gold can be fulfilled, 'he added.
