Internet to Kampung in Jayapura with Visat Technology

Internet to Kampung in Jayapura with Visat Technology

The process of channeling the internet network to the village by the Jayapura Regency Government through the Information and Communication Office (Kominfo) together with the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) does not use Viber Optic (VO) facilities but uses the Visat network.
.
Geographical conditions in Jayapura Regency which make it impossible to use VO networks do not reduce the commitment to bring internet networks to villages in Papua.
.
The internet service provision is in collaboration with the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII). The operational costs are supported by each village government's budget.
.
"The system is profit sharing with the village government. There is investment saved by the village government so that the village budget for financing internet service operations does not just disappear, "said APJII Chairman and Event Management Muchammad Rivan, Thursday (11/14/2019).
.
The operational cooperation was carried out by APJII with a village-owned enterprise (BUMK). Their internet services are not only enjoyed by the village government, but also by all local residents.
.
"Community participation is greatly needed so that internet services run smoothly. That (also to) answer (demand) community needs, "said Rivan.
.
The Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab) so far has only facilitated the provision of internet connection to the district administration center. The internet connection in the village must be prepared by the local village government. The reason is that the village is an autonomous region of government, and manages its own budget in quite a large amount.
.
"We have facilitated each district to install the internet through VSAT technology. At present, we continue to encourage the village government to use the technology (in providing internet connections), "said the acting Head of the Jayapura Regency Information and Communication Office Gustaf Griyapon.
.
Griyapon claims that Jayapura Regency Government is lucky to be able to work with APJII. The association boasts 500 internet service providers (ISPs), with 1,500 public internet (IP) protocols.
.
"A total of 500 ISPs use VSAT. The technology is very suitable with the geographical location of Jayapura Regency, "he said.
