Yahukimo Regency Government Has Prepared the 2020 Pilkada Security Fund

The Regency Government (Pemkab) Yahukimo claims to have prepared a grant to provide security for the simultaneous elections of 2020.

Regent of Yahukimo Abock Busup, in Jayapura on Friday, said that his party had prepared Rp6 billion for the 2020 election security fund.

"This Rp6 billion consists of Rp5 billion for the National Police and Rp1 billion for the TNI," he said. According to Abock, his party only prepared Rp1 billion for the TNI because the election security was not a TNI's main task but rather an effort to anticipate.

"Whereas the National Police for safeguarding the elections is the main task so we provide a bigger budget," said the Chairman of the Papua PAN DPW ..

He explained that in addition to the TNI and Polri, his party had also prepared a budget for Bawaslu of Rp20 billion and KPU of Rp75 billion. "The important thing is that the election in Yahukimo is safe and smooth," he said again.

He added that the electoral system in Yahukimo Regency still uses the noken system except in two districts namely Kurima and Dekai which use the ballot system.
